“I take this hoodie with me everywhere. No other fleece compares! The rain jacket attachment is insanely useful.”
- Steven J., USA
You ever tried to wear a fleece in bad weather? We don't recommend it. That's why we founded BÆRSkin in 2019 - to build the world's best outdoor gear that's just as comfortable at home as it is durable outdoors.
"Bad fitting, bulky and practically useless" - that's how we felt when we tested 1000s of regular fleece hoodies. Most of them were covered in pills & bobbles. That's why we use the best-in-class 340gsm weight of Original BÆRSkin bonded MicroFleece with thinner-than-silk fibers for a finish that feels lighter, loftier and softer - with twice the warmth.
Every other hoodie gives you two hand pockets. The all-new BÆRSkin Hoodie 5.0 was built with a 11-pocket system where every pocket has a job - and everything you carry has a home.
Feel the warmth of 340gsm bonded anti-pill BÆRSkin™ MicroFleece that's 20% lighter and 50% warmer than your standard 270gsm fleeces.
Block the rain by instantly zipping on the 20,000mm rated Waterproof Rain Jacket onto the hoodie to keep dry in heavy storms.
Keep stuff secure with 9 pockets, plus 2 new mesh inserts - the BÆR-VAULT™ RFID Pocket protects your cards behind a metalized RFID-blocking lining, with its own interior PocketWallet.
Every pocket on the BÆRSkin Hoodie 5.0 either zips or holds - with zero open pockets for anyone to grab from.
The new BÆR-VAULT™ RFID Pocket sits on the inside of your left waist, below the sightline and out of reach - lined all the way round with metalized RFID-blocking fabric that protects your cards from wireless scanning.
No other outdoor hoodie has fleece like this.
Our unique 340gsm bonded BÆRSkin MicroFleece™ evaporates moisture faster and breathes better than regular fleece. It absorbs less than 1% of its weight in water, dries quickly, and lasts a lifetime.
Proven to keep you warm in -1°C or 30°F temperatures.
Zip the Heavy-Storm Rain Jacket onto your BÆRSkin Hoodie 5.0 and your fleece becomes the lining - or wear the shell on its own, or the fleece on its own. Three jackets that live in one.
At 20,000mm hydrostatic head, the BÆRSkin Heavy-Storm Rain Jacket handles heavy, sustained rain and snow while staying breathable. Beneath the PFAS-free, SGS-tested BÆR-Tex durable water-repellent (DWR) coating, it's built from 100% Polyester Ripstop that shrugs off tears. When the sky clears, it packs into its own pocket at 350 grams and 3 x 4.2 inches, and drops straight into a hoodie pocket.
We guarantee you a tailor-made finish that feels like a second skin - broad shoulders, tapered waist, fitted arms and a longer back section for coverage when you bend over. Warm and ready in the wilderness, and the best thing you own for a Saturday in town.
Your BÆRSkin Hoodie 5.0 and Heavy-Storm Rain Jacket are both designed to fit perfectly over clothes, helmets, or hats.
The best outdoor garments fit snugly without tightness, sit square across the shoulders, and never get too baggy around the waist or arms. Get your ideal size by measuring your chest. The Heavy-Storm Rain Jacket is already cut to fit over the hoodie, so order your normal size in both.

It is the internal zip pocket on the left-hand waist of your BÆRSkin Hoodie 5.0, just above the hem, and the entire pocket panel is lined with metalized RFID-blocking material. Contactless bank cards, ID cards, hotel keycards and e-passports all communicate by radio. Inside the BÆR-VAULT that signal is blocked, so nothing can be read until you take it out. Inside the BÆR-VAULT you will also find the integrated PocketWallet.
Adjust your fit to block wind with eazi-grip elastic waist toggles, a fully adjustable 3-panel hood, and premium rubber velcro cuffs on the wrist.
